Went to see the Weta Cave and this was the nearest Cafe to it.
It's a classy place. The service was very friendly with all the staff smiling. As I sat down, the first thing I was asked was if I required a high chair for Victor (my son). Excellent start. I was also served a glass of water immediately, it's a small thing that can make a big difference to a thirsty parent.
I had green tea and a spiced lamb sausage roll (I'm on a limited budget!). The green tea was good. Not out of a tea bag, but loose lea tea-good to see that. They also provided honey for my green tea, I like my green tea with a bit of honey.
The spiced lamb sausage roll was the best sausage roll I've had. It had just the right amount of spice and had almonds. Very unusual, tasty and filling at $5.50.
The toilets were pretty standard. One male and one female toilet. I didn't see a change table, which would be handy in 'an emergency'. ( I've been corrected, they do have a change table- perfect!)
The tables and chairs were standard. No sofa type areas, which are useful for popping a baby down on a soft surface. Not a big deal but a 'nice to have'.
The rest of their menu looks impressive. It can be found at www.thelarder.co.nz
Overall, I'd go there again and recommend.
